Contains information pertaining to the following military units and organizations: Artillery Corps, Fort Monroe; Office of Chief of Artillery, A.E.F; base of American Forces in Germany; Army War College. General description of the collection: The William C. Koenig papers include general officer's papers of official and personal correspondence centering around Koenig's service in Europe (1918-1926) with most items on his role as port commander at Antwerp (1919-1922). Considerable material concerns his service as attacheĢ to Germany and France (1922-1926). In Germany he translated reports and articles on WWI by such German officers as Baumgarten-Crusius, von Francois, von Kuhl and von Tappen. These translations and correspondence with the officers is included in the collection. An account of the Transportation Service and the Shipping Board (1920) by Brigadier-General Frank T. Hines is also found. The collection contains some material on the Service of Supply during WWI plus a report on the US artillery program as of Oct. 4, 1918 and a few items on his duty at Fort Monroe in 1916.
